Description   Magnesium Sulphate. This time honoured stand by for mixing with a bran mash is useful to keep by you to cleanse the gut. (Always use a calcium supplement such as limestone flour when giving bran). An old fashioned remedy for head shaking is to give a cupful of Epsom Salts to the horse in the feed every day. Why it works we aren’t sure, but it may be due to the increase in magnesium in the diet which is a proven agent that settles the nerves.
