- Feed Mare, Foal & Youngstock to balance the diet of brood mares and growing youngsters, particularly those fed less than recommended levels of hard feed.
- Provides a broad spectrum of micronutrients essential to healthy growth and development.
- A complex formula designed to provide all the micronutrients required to support optimum, rather than maximum, growth. Feed from foal to four years of age, also ideal for pregnant and lactating mares.
- N.A.F. Youngstock provides the vitamin and mineral support to encourage optimum growth.
- Nutrition is one of the most important aspects when raising youngstock. The modern day trend for yearlings, whether bound for the sales or show ring, is to be well grown, carrying condition and looking almost adult in appearance. However there are considerable risks associated with over feeding energy and protein to youngstock.
- Developmental disorders are considered to be the result, primarily, of overfeeding. On the other hand an under nourished youngster will be weak and may never reach his full potential as an adult. When rearing young horses a smooth growth curve should be aimed for, and any deviation from that curve should be altered slowly.
- Calcium and phosphorous are added as Di-Calcium Phosphate which ensures they are in the correct ratio for bone development; with additional zinc and iron which maximise the absorption of those nutrients into the bone.
- Copper is also added for healthy cartilage formation, which is vital during the period of bone growth.
- Vitamin E is added for muscle development and also because neurological disorders in youngsters have been linked to a vitamin E deficiency. While it is important to recognise that over feeding protein can be detrimental, it is also important that what protein is fed should be of good quality.
- N.A.F. Youngstock contains lysine, which is the first limiting amino acid in equine diets, that is, without the presence of lysine no other amino acid would be utilised protein.
- N.A.F. Youngstock is an all round vitamin and mineral supplement, specifically aimed at younger horses. By feeding N.A.F. Youngstock it is possible to feed an adequate, though not excessive, amount of energy in concentrates, without risking a vitamin or mineral deficiency.
